Online poker room Doyles Room decided to offer a free ticket into a $250,000 Guaranteed event for new deposits by existing players, which wound up costing the poker room $50k. This was the overlay, the amount that they fell short in meeting the $250k guarantee, and so the funds had to come out of Doyle's Room's coffers. The total number of players in the event were just over 1,300, but many of them did not have to pay to enter, so the prize pool came up just under $200k...

Four men who were charged with participating in a high stakes poker scam in Atlantic City have been indicted by New Jersey authorities.
